  • Mission Event with the Szobody family at Maple Park, February 8, 6:00 pm.
  • Seattle Children’s Chorus ‘Songs of the Heart’, Saturday, March 28, 2:00 pm at First Free Methodist Church, Seattle.
  • Life Screening, on March 7th at Grace, screens people for a number of common medical conditions, especially among seniors. Details are forthcoming.
  • The first Men’s Prayer Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 7:00 am.  We are greatly anticipating where the Lord will lead us in the endeavor.
  • Watch for a special Neighbor to Neighbor outreach initiative during the season of Lent.
  • GLC is being used more frequently by outside groups.  In addition to the two other congregations worshiping here, there is a Thursday evening support group in the library, some piano recitals scheduled, Seattle Children’s Chorus retreats, and the Rolling Warblers.  We are thankful that more worthwhile groups are using our facilities.

Sunday School:

  • The adult class begins a video study of Jesus’ parables by Jamie Buckingham, led by Gary Stueckle.
  • During Lent the kids will have a special part in each worship service.

Youth:

  • The Winter Retreat in Leavenworth was a big success.
  • A skiing trip, Broom Hockey, Easter Breakfast, May 17th Parade in Ballard, Pitch n Putt, and a Summer Retreat, are scheduled as well as our regular Sunday evening Bible studies.

Vacation Bible School is tentatively scheduled for July 6-10. Save the dates.

Benevolence: During this time of economic distress in our community, we are suggesting that each Grace family bring an item of non-perishable food to our worship services, beginning on Souper Bowl Sunday, to be donated to the Lynnwood Food Bank.

Ladies: You don’t want to miss the District Dessert Night at Grace, on Friday, February, 20, 7:00 pm. National Women’s Ministries director Ruth Vallevik is the speaker.

People:

  • Pastor Bob Hosmer is joining the Marketplace Chaplain Corp.
  • The Shorewood High School choir under John Hendrix’ direction was one of 4 choirs in the USA chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on March 20.

Prayer Notes;

  • The Larsen family has returned to Taiwan and their missionary work.
  • We ask the Father for all the necessary resources required, material and spiritual, to accomplish the task He has given us.
  • As a new national administration assumes responsibility, we ask our Father in His mercy to bless all that is right and wise in our government’s intentions, and frustrate all that is wrong and foolish.
  • Ask the Father to bless Bob Hosmer’s ministry as a Marketplace Chaplain with hearts open to him and to the Lord through his witness.
  • We ask the Father to bless our Men’s Prayer Breakfast initiative with the effective ministry to His glory.
